The project of Noah Ark
During my personal art exhibition Everlasting Parterre, I initiated a new experimental art course. The participants were children from the after-school program at Shipai Elementary School, most of whom faced psychological challenges. I allowed them to use various mediums, including watercolors, acrylics, crayons, newspapers, recycled materials, etc., to create a boat named 'Noah's Ark.' This symbolized embracing their uniqueness and the courage to embark on a journey towards freedom.
Interestingly, by the end of the course, I discovered that they were not the troubled children labeled by the school; instead, they exhibited exceptional talents and ideas. One girl, Nana, after experiencing various handicraft courses for five months, began learning dance. She displayed remarkable focus and strong perseverance. I believe she will showcase her most beautiful and perfect self in the world of dance in the future.
